We have multiple teams working on the same product. The main issue is that nobody think out of box (scope of the reponsibility).
Just simple example - something happens with QA Box, TL just sent email to CM and waiting for response. At this time QA are wating for testing, Developers waiting for server everybody waiting something. Why???
Most effective is to step 10 meters in the next room and verify status of the issue. Why TL is waiting to resolve issue what block his team? Why PM or Architect should ask him to stand up and took responsibility for his bloker?
I don't have answer on this question - just try to push TLs to do it ...
I'm not really agree with such approach of handling tasks. Think "out of box", and try to treat each person as an individual.

2. It is also important to admit that the person is not working espesially only on your task. There could be more important/prioritized tasks than yours. And could you imagine that some one try to ping you each minute....Personally, I will this person :)) (joke)
I believe that we could put more items here that discribes how correctly ask about status of the task.
My suggestion, if you really want "to step 10 meters in the next room" :), let it be the kitchen where you'll able to ask how she/he spend a weekend with grandparents + status of the task :))))

ВідповістиВидалитиThe item what i would like to rise is - don't wait when somebody fix your blocker, sometimes people didn't read emails or thought that this is not really important for another team. It's not acceptable when 7 people wait hours for one look in to the build environment.
I would agree with Vlad here - can be a sign of a low motivation: salary is paid in any case - why to take responsibility?
